The O’Neill is currently seeking enthusiastic emerging professionals across multiple departments for the 2024 Summer Season. Summer Staff make a season of developing new plays, musicals, cabaret acts, and puppet theater possible. Get intensive experience, full integration with O'Neill professional staff, and participate in all the activities of an O’Neill Summer.
Associate Production Manager
Reports to: Production Manager
Department: Production
Compensation: $685/week salary, housing and meals
Dates: Mid-May to Mid-August
The Associate Production Manager will serve a vital role in the daily operations of the O’Neill Theater Center. Duties will include:
- Work directly with the Production Manager to assist managing the production department and serve as a liaison between O’Neill staff, creative teams, and production
- Assist with the load-in and load-out of the summer season, including set up and strike of all workspaces and storage of items for the off season
- Support lighting and audio departments when needed including changeovers
- Upkeep of internal calendars for the Summer Conferences, National Theater Institute, and special events
- Help coordinate the flow of information within and without the Production Department
- Expedit and fulfill support requests from production departments and artistic staff
- Provide support in the planning, coordination, and set-up of all rehearsal rooms, performance spaces, offices, and meeting rooms
- Coordinate daily work schedules with Audio and Lighting Supervisors
- Work closely with House Management staff to prepare performance spaces and provide support during performances
- Support special events on campus as needed
- Assist in creating and maintaining all production department paperwork
Ideal candidate:
- Organized, flexible, and responsible with a high attention to detail, and strong ability to multitask
- Possess excellent communications skills, a positive attitude and strong leadership skills
- Works well both in a team environment and independently in fast paced environment
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
- Experienced in supervising others or leading a team
- Interest in new work development is a plus
- Electrics and/or audio experience a plus

Production Assistant

Compensation: $525/week stipend, housing and meals
Dates: Mid-May to Mid-August
The Production Assistant will serve a vital role in the daily operations of the O’Neill Theater Center. Duties will include:
- Attend daily rehearsals acting as the liaison for the Production Department in the rehearsal room and assist the Stage Management team as needed
- Help coordinate the flow of information within the Production Department
- Fulfill support requests from the rehearsal room, production departments and artistic staff
- Provide support in the set-up of all rehearsal rooms, stages, offices, and meeting rooms
- Work closely with House Management staff to prepare performance spaces and provide support during performances
- Assist in the upkeep of internal calendars for the Summer Conferences, National Theater Institute, and special events
