Reporting Line : SVP, Regional Head of Direct Sales, Bank, and Energy Distribution
Job Summary : Lead the go-to-market distribution strategy for Energy.
Commercial Underwriting : Under the direction of the Regional Head of Credit Speciality Lines, working as a liaison to the Xol Team representing the energy division, this position will support the Energy team in managing a portfolio of new business submissions and / or renewal submissions specifically for the Energy portfolio. This position will analyze and provide policy structure and premium rates for submissions, help develop and support customer relationships, cultivate and Sr. directors, direct sales force and / or broker relationships, provide the highest quality of customer service, assess commercial underwriting risk, review credit standing of the portfolio, all in order to achieve Allianz Trade profitability and growth objectives.
Risk Underwriting : Ensures most effective credit limit service in term of quality of decision, turnaround time and communication toward customers. Attracts new customers / prospects by quality of service, expertise in energy risk and transaction types and facilitating underwriting decisions, whilst building a trusted relationship with customers, to improve customer portfolio profitability.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
Commercial
Utilizing our commercial underwriting guidelines, structure and price for new business and renewal policies, according to our retention, growth and profitability objectives.
Provide highest possible level of customer service to internal and external customers.
Support the team in maximizing approvals for our portfolio of renewal policyholders. This is inclusive of attending meetings with brokers and clients as required.
Manage a portfolio of non-can / can clients servicing needs.
Manage and support customer relationships with brokers and Energy Sr. directors.
Quote / negotiate new and renewal business transactions in accordance with the underwriting guidelines.
Support and drive revenue and growth goals.
Mentor and provide guidance / training for team members.
Work independently on other tasks assigned.
Risk
Process credit limit requests consistently, within response time delays included in Risk Business Model by assessing the buyer with all information available in IRP and his / her own market knowledge.
Responsible of a dedicated customers portfolio, steering it and providing a pro-active service level, according to PH classification by regularly meeting customers and broker and by organizing telephone conferences.
Contributes to support Commercial in steering customers loss ratio and implement necessary actions to ensure or restore profitability of portfolio.
Takes responsibility in projects and initiatives supporting RBM and IRP related matters.
Builds relationships with other core functions.
Required Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor’s degree in economics, finance or related discipline. Advanced degree, MBA or MS Finance preferred.
7 years’ experience in financial management experience in banking, credit insurance brokerage or a credit insurance environment.
Proficient computer skills, with an understanding of financial software and spreadsheet packages.
Strong analytical and research skills.
Ability to build long term customer relationship, even in a context of restrictive decisions and deteriorated market.
Strong planning, organizational and workflow prioritization skills.
Strong communicator and able to convince others of decision taken; ability to hold visits and contacts including difficult meetings with high profile seniors.
Interact effectively with our Direct Sales Force, and other departments within Allianz Trade.
Good interpersonal and customer service skills

Expert knowledge in the Credit / Insurance industry
Strong broker and industry relationships
Strong business expertise and business / finance assessment skills.

Total Compensation range :
175,000 - $225,000
Placement within the range provided above is based on the individual’s relevant experience, skills for the role, and location. Salary ranges are only one component of our total compensation package.
