Overview
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Forklift Operator to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced distribution center environment. The ideal candidate will have experience operating sit-down, propane powered 4-stage forklifts, in narrow environment, ensuring the efficient handling and movement of materials within the warehouse. This role is critical in maintaining smooth operations and supporting overall productivity.
Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts in tight narrow spaces, able to lift pallet up to 19 foot racks safely.
- Utilize warehouse management systems to track inventory levels and manage stock locations.
- Perform routine minor inspections on forklifts and other equipment to ensure they are in good working condition, repair and maintenance will be done through independent contractors, so no requirement for forklift mechanical experience.
- Adhere to OSHA safety regulations while operating machinery and handling materials.
- Collaborate with team members to maintain an organized and clean work environment.
- Assist in training new operators on safe equipment operation and warehouse procedures.
- Conduct materials handling tasks, including labeling and palletizing products for storage or outbound shipment.
Skills
- Proficient in operating forklifts, including pallet jacks, with a strong understanding of materials handling techniques.
- Experience with warehouse management systems is a plus.
- Spanish speaker is a plus
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations related to forklift operation and safety practices.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow safety protocols consistently.
- Excellent communication skills for effective teamwork within the distribution center.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of safety and efficiency.
