Certified Medical Assistant
Join our team in Richmond VA as a Certified Medical Assistant, where you will play a crucial role in supporting healthcare delivery. Clinic hours of operations are Monday to Friday, 7 : 00 AM to 4 : 00 PM, excluding currently observed Federal Holidays.
Note : The Occupational Health Clinic is not a primary care facility. The clinic's primary function is to provide occupational health services such as job related physical, pre-employment physicals, fit for duty evaluation, immunizations in accordance with DOD / DLA Regulation / Instructions, OPM Classification and Qualification Standards and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards, as well as first aid work-related medical care for workplace injuries and illnesses.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Greet patients handle telephone calls, schedule appointments, and answer inquiries regarding treatment or prescription refills to make sure each patient has a great experience.
- Prepare exam rooms for patients, ensuring the room is well-stocked and at a comfortable temperature for the patient.
- Discuss patient information, medical history, and the reason for their visit to share with the healthcare staff.
- Take the patient's vital signs including their pulse, body temperature, respiration rate, and blood pressure and record it in their chart.
- Assist healthcare staff with examinations by handing the appropriate medical instrument and supplies to the physician, positioning the patient, and helping with other tasks as needed.
- Draw blood and prepare blood samples for laboratory tests.
- Fill out the appropriate insurance forms and document patient appointments, listing all symptoms, test results, diagnoses, treatment instructions, and prescriptions on the patient records.
