Overview
Eureka Chemical Labs is seeking a full-time Chemist/ Formulating Chemist to work in our lab to develop or match new products and existing products in markets that we compete in. He/she should be able to demonstrate formulation and innovation skills in Personal Care, HI&I, and industrial based cleaning chemicals which will include Acids, Soaps, degreasers, and multi-purpose cleaners. Chemist should be proficient with analytical and numerical skills, able to perform basic mathematical calculations in various units of measurement and able to navigate concepts such as fractions, percentages, and ratios. He/she must have a strong attention to detail, capable of efficiently communicating verbally and through writing, produce and share reports, demonstrate excellent organizational skills and be able to perform physically demanding activities such as moving and lifting equipment and standing for extended periods of time.
Duties
- Maintain and calibrate lab equipment daily.
- Test / inspect incoming raw materials for quality.
- Conduct Product quality testing / test in-house blends (pH, viscosity, titration, moisture analysis, particle size, etc.)
- Write COA’s.
- Formulate product prototypes and evaluate chemical and physical properties, performance, and stability.
- Develop new formulations for different personal care products, and HI&I.
- Improve current product formulations.
- Research product formulations and properties of raw materials.
- Proof laboratory batches
- Test water quality.
- Initiate, develop, and create innovative products to expand formulation library and enhance customer presentations.
- Conduct research and field evaluations on new products.
- Provide technical assistance and supervisory support within the laboratory, and documentation to Compounding, Production, Documentation, and Scheduling Departments.
- Develop reports and documents detailing project processes, results, and conclusions.
- Maintain accurate lab records, notebooks of analysis and work performed.
- Comply with all Tri-Pac Safety requirements, GMP/GLP, and customer requirements.
- Prepare shipping samples to customers and external lab for testing.
- Maintain laboratory paperwork, lab books, and procedures.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related field; advanced degrees are a plus.
- Proficiency in analytical chemistry techniques, including gas chromatography and spectrophotometry.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail in conducting experiments.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 standards is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey complex information clearly.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
