Your Role:
As an After School Dance Teacher, you’ll lead engaging dance classes for students in grades K-5 at various elementary schools across the Bay Area. You'll create a fun and supportive environment where kids can learn, express themselves, and thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
- Class Management:
- Energize and manage classes of 8-16 enthusiastic students aged 5-10.
- Teach various forms of dance tailored to elementary school children.
- Training & Preparation:
- Attend a maximum of two-day unpaid training/shadowing session to familiarize yourself with our program.
- Transport and set up any necessary equipment for each class.
- Administrative Tasks:
- Take attendance and manage student sign-in/out procedures.
- Communicate effectively with parents and school staff as needed.
- Provide constructive feedback on each student’s progress.
- Capture the Fun:
- Document the joy of dance by capturing photos of kids in action during sessions!
What We’re Looking For:
- Must be at least 19 years old.
- At least a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous teaching or performing experience in dance is preferred but not required.
- A genuine enjoyment of working with children and effective classroom management skills.
- Flexibility, reliability, punctuality, and a professional, enthusiastic approach are essential.
- Strong communication skills and a resilient, positive attitude.
- Reliable transportation throughout the East and South Bay and Peninsula.
- Willingness to undergo a background check and be fully vaccinated.
Locations & Schedule:
- Classes are held at various elementary schools across the Bay Area.
- Classes run for 1 - 1.5 hours, starting between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
- Work two or more days per week with a maximum of 2-5 hours weekly.
