Overview
The Music Activity Instructor is to provide music workshops and activities for young people to learn new skills; as well as an avenue for self-development, exploration, and expression.
Reports to : Program Director, SONYC AT JHS 292
Location : 301 Vermont St. Brooklyn, NY 11207
Hours : Mon-Fri ( 2 : 45pm-5 : 30pm)
MAJOR DUTIES :
- Design, plan and conduct activities and workshops in specified areas of education, specifically music and the performing arts.
- Submit lesson / activity plans in-advance.
- Conduct activities enriched with music skills whenever possible.
- Plan and implement a culminating event or project.
- Complete daily progress reports and attendance.
- Manage setup, operation and clean-up of activities and the organization, inventory and storing of relevant supplies and equipment.
- Attend all staff meetings and staff development trainings sessions, as specified.
- Guide program participants in examining choices, following directions and becoming involved in program activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
