We are searching for a motivated & experienced Quality Assurance Manager
JOB SUMMARY:
Serves as the SQF Practitioner for the site. Maintain, write and implement the SQF Food Safety and Quality Programs. Plan, coordinate, and execute food safety and quality assurance programs to ensure production of products that consistently meet food safety and quality standards and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Manage and coordinate compliance with all applicable standards such as FDA, relevant CFRs, SQF / GFSI, and applicable customer requirements.
- Handle external food safety and regulatory audits and inspections - FDA, State food safety inspectors, SQF, organic, kosher, as applicable.
- Update and implement the Food Safety Management and Product Quality Systems to comply with SQF Code.
- Conduct internal audits of the SQF program and correct nonconformances.
- Interpret quality assurance policies for key personnel in organization.
- Manage, coach and develop the quality team.
- Provide oversight and assist in directing and implementing the sanitation function, including writing and implementing cleaning procedures, cleaning verification programs, and sanitation schedules.
- Direct technical and administrative workers engaged in quality assurance activities.
- Inform management team of significant issues or developments identified during quality assurance activities and actions being taken to improve the situation.
- Assure site and personnel compliance with all food safety programs (e.g., HACCP, allergen control, GMP). Review data obtained during quality assurance and production activities to ensure consistency with company food safety and quality policies and procedures.
- Assure all verification and validation activities are carried out and documented as required by SQF, GMP and company policy (e.g., HACCP, allergen control, sanitation, environmental monitoring).
- Investigate customer complaints and internal nonconformance; conduct root cause analysis, documents corrective and preventive actions, and coordinate with plant team to implement necessary improvements.
- Review product and process for compliance to specifications; applies statistical process control (SPC) methods for analyzing data; where food safety or quality requirements are not being met, recommends remedial actions including but not limited to modifications of processes, products, specifications, or standards as needed.
- Train personnel on quality and food safety policies, procedures, specifications, and standards. Design and implement quality assurance training programs to key personnel in conjunction with sites managers.
- Drive quality improvements.
