Job Description
- Perform analytical method development studies to determine feasibility of new analytical methods or modifications to existing methods, under guidance of Method Development Scientists. All aspects of testing including sample preparation and analysis, using various chromatographic instrumentation, for example both LC-MS/MS and GC-MS/MS.
- Perform analytical validation studies to provide data in support of proposed analytical method.
- Provide training and technical support to laboratory production personnel to implement newly developed methods.
- Work with Method Development Scientists to suggest improvements and troubleshoot existing analytical methods.
- Maintain assigned equipment and instrumentation according to Standard Operating Procedures. Perform all operational qualifications prior to development or validation studies according to standard operating procedures.
- Report writing and presentation of data for review.
- Experience with GC-MS, GC-MS/MS, GC-FID, LC-FLD, LC-MSMS as well as hands on experience preparing samples using various SPE and clean up protocols.
- Strong computer, scientific and organizational skills
- Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies.
- Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve, taking next logical step, without relying on others for guidance. Most be self-directed.
- Ability to multitask is key. Must be able to work on multiple, high priority projects simultaneously.
- Hands on experience at both the Analyst and Lab Technician level demonstrated success with troubleshooting of methods and instrumentation issues
- Strong understanding of analytical chemistry principles
