Job Description
Eurofins Built Environment Testing is proactively seeking a temporary Microbiology Laboratory Technician to join our Naperville site. This position will be offered as a temporary position, targeted for 6 months and will require availability to support required overtime as needed.
The Microbiology Technician will need a solid understanding of microbiological techniques, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work accurately in a fast-paced, repetitive environment.
Sucessful training for position must be completed within two weeks of the start date. Training will consist of filtering and plating biological concentrates.
Expected Start Date for Position: April 28th, 2025
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine microbiological laboratory procedures and analyses
- Maintain, calibrate, clean and test sterility of lab equipment
- Isolate and make cultures of bacteria or other microorganisms
- Document all data and results in specified forms
- Conduct microbial analyses of samples collected from various sources
- Adhere to correct procedures, policies, and health/safety guidelines
- Prepare specimens and samples for testing
- Work in compliance with laboratory safety standards
- Prepare detailed reports of laboratory results and findings
Qualifications
- Associates or BS degree in Microbiology, Biology, or a related field
- Proven work experience as a Microbiology Laboratory Technician or in transferable laboratory setting
- Hands-on experience with relevant equipment, procedures, and safety regulations
- Knowledge of modern microbiological techniques
- Experience in preparing cultures of bacteria and other microorganisms
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Professional working proficiency in English is a requirement, including the ability to read, write and speak in English
Additional Information
Position is located onsite, at our Napeverville location. Hours would be Monday- Friday, 10 AM- 6 PM with occasional weekend work and mandatory OT as needed. Time may be flexible depending on workload.
Position Range- $20.00- $22.00/hr depending on experience.
