Job Description
Responsibilities include but are not limited to :
- Work with all species within the parasitology group to include large and small animals and various internal (worms) and external (fleas, ticks and mosquitoes) animal parasites.
- Assay development, optimization, and / or validation.
- Demonstrate proficiency with laboratory techniques and data management including computer skills.
- Utilize sterile cell culture techniques, whole organism work, whole blood work and / or cell culture work.
- Establish and maintain parasite colonies.
- Assist with in vivo parasite model work.
- Communicate with and assist technicians and other mid-senior level scientists.
- Follow and comply with all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) associated with laboratory procedures and study protocols.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills required. Other computer skills required : Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
- Work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, fast-paced, timeline driven and a positive attitude and organizational skills.

Additional Information
Position is full-time, first shift, Monday-Friday 8AM-5PM with variation and overtime as needed. Candidates currently living in a commutable distance to Kalamazoo, MI are encouraged to apply.
