Job Description

This individual will support Sample Management for our Professional Scientific Services group in the Gaithersburg, MD area.

Scientist responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following :

• The candidate will be primarily responsible for the receipt, storage, inventory, and distribution of samples and standards for analytical testing, utilizing computer-based asset management systems.
• Prepares aliquots of samples and labels using automated systems.
• Review documentation to ensure completeness of paperwork submission. She / he / they will also be responsible for the organization and maintenance of environmental chambers and ensure that samples are stored in appropriate temperature conditions.
• Candidate must have excellent organizational and time management skills, and the ability to work as part of a team.
• Candidate will need to interact with other team members from different departments to address their concerns, answer their questions, and assist them with their needs.
• The candidate will complete and document activities following established site-specific GxP, SOP, and protocols.
• Recognizes any deviations from project guidelines, determines appropriate course of action, and notifies applicable personnel.
• Applicants must be willing to work around and handle unknown health risk material in a Biosafety level 2 / 3 Environment.
