Job Description
- Develop and optimize molecular assays, including RT-qPCR and ddPCR.
- Perform and optimize DNA and RNA extractions from various clinical sample types.
- Analyze experimental data and interpret results.
- Present data and findings clearly and concisely.
- Collaborate with team members and contribute to project planning and execution.
- Support cell culture work.
- Maintain accurate e-notebook.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate would possess:
- Ph.D. candidate in molecular biology, cellular biology, immunology, animal science, genetics and related fields.
- Deep understanding of molecular and cellular biology.
- Hands-on experience with assay development and biomarker identification.
- Proficiency in using software for sequence alignments and data analysis (e.g., BLAST, Clustal Omega).
- Independent thinking with the ability to innovate from the bench and efficiently collaborate with other team members within one’s own reporting line as well as the project team.
- Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies.
- Self-starter, able to prioritize work and work efficiently with minimal supervision.
- Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills
- Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail are essential.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude.
Basic Minimum Qualifications:
- Master's degree (MSc) in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, or a closely related discipline with 5 years of experience.
- At least 3-5 years of experience in molecular biology.
- Proven track record of independent research and data analysis.
- Ability to present complex data to both scientific and non-scientific audiences.
- Experience working in a BSL-2 Laboratory.

Additional Details:
The position is full-time, on-site. Overtime will be required on a rotational basis to cover weekend Bioreactor sampling and occasional off-shift operations. Candidates living within a commutable distance of Kalamazoo, MI, and the surrounding areas are encouraged to apply.
