Eurofins Environment Testing in TacomaWA is seeking a Specilaity Metals Department Manager.
The Specialty Metals Department Manager is responsible for supervising all department employees and providing technical expertise and leadership as needed. The position is also responsible for ensuring compliance and integration of facility operation with corporate and regulatory policies and procedures. The Specialty Metals Department Manager will support the Business Unit Manager (BUMa) in developing and executing the company and laboratory mission vision and values.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
The Specialty Metals Department Manager responsibilities include but are not limited to the following : :
- Leading scheduling and training of employees
- Ensuring adherence to the highest quality and efficiency standards in laboratory operations
- Ensuring coverage and performance
- Fostering morale and teamwork
- Demonstrating and promoting the company vision
- Exhibiting regular attendance and punctuality
- Managing the technical conduct quality control and related record keeping of all analytical evaluations performed
- Being Responsible for the supervision organization and coordination of all technical activities of personnel within the principles of sound scientific endeavors business economy and the professional development of subordinate employees.
- Providing the necessary planning organization direction and control to meet the goals of the company.
- Ensuring that all pertinent company health safety and environmental programs are adhered to and documentation is maintained.
- Establishing and maintaining professional business relationships with clients industry officials and peers.
- Assisting in the generation of marketing strategies preparing comprehensive technical work proposals and maintaining an influential position in establishing business expansion plans.
- Supporting the Business Unit Manager with meeting the department operational and financial goals as well as developing and implementing capital plans.
- Overseeing daily operations including : laboratory quality logistic and managerial duties.
- Representing the laboratory in technical meetings.
- Participating with the Sales / Marketing team in the preparation and quotation of major technical studies.
- Proposing major investments to company executives.
- Analyzing laboratory key operational and financial indicators such as turnaround time financial performance to budget including labor cost consumables cost and other relevant costs.
- Verifying that company employment policies and procedures are followed correctly.
- Performing annual performance reviews for direct reports.
- Handling employee relation issues as per company guidelines and with the support of Human Resources.
- Coordinating the interaction between the different laboratory departments and as well as other labs sharing work with the Specialty Metals Department.
- Understanding and following each Quality System document relevant to employment responsibilities e.g. methods SOPs etc. and proposing changes to documents and approving documents when required
- Conducting all activities in a safe and efficient manner
- Performing other duties as assigned

Salary range : $85K $120K annually
