Europa Village is looking for a full-time experienced Pastry Cook. The ideal candidate will have a passion for creating delectable desserts and pastries. A minimum of 2 years experience is a must.
Reports To:
- Executive Chef
- Possesses and lives Europa Village core values.
- Demonstrates skill in baking pastries, desserts, cakes, cookies, sweets, and pies.
- Works closely with the Executive Chef to develop new dessert options to renew menu and engage interest of the guests.
- Decorates pastries using different icings, toppings, etc., to ensure presentation will be beautiful and exciting.
- Keeps abreast with the latest pastry and dessert techniques and trends.
- Applies classic pastry baking techniques when preparing traditional pastries.
- Checks quality of material and condition of equipment and devices used for cooking and baking.
- Monitors and ensures that all specialized pastry baking tools and equipment are in good working order.
- Meets with the Executive Chef to review assignments and anticipate business levels to prepare the adequate number of pastries, desserts, cakes, etc.
- Monitors and records inventory and orders supplies when needed.
- Adheres to and implements sanitation regulations and safety regulations.
- Maintains a positive and professional attitude at all times.
- Keeps workstation clean and organized.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Create and foster an environment of “teamwork” by helping fellow employees or guests without a second thought.
- Be comfortable working on your feet for the majority of your shift.
- Be able to communicate Europa Village’s story.
- Ability to treat all Villagers and guests in a respectful manner.
- Arrive at work prepared with excellent personal presentation standards and clean, pressed uniform and appropriate shoes.
- Arrive on time and be respectful of attendance and punctuality
- Adhere to Europa Village’s policies and procedures.
- Be hospitable, welcoming and exhibit a positive attitude and willingness to assist where necessary.
- Must be available to work nights, weekends and holidays.
