Objective:
Manage die changeovers to improve efficiency, accuracy, and quality in this area. Supervise the set-up department to achieve production and productivity goals set by management.
Duties
and
Responsibilities
- • Coordinate with scheduling to help decide changeovers and set up priorities
- • Schedule overtime hours
- • Coordinate and oversee multiple personnel at one time for multiple jobs
- • Hands-on work as needed
- • Determine the cause for an unknown continuation of bad laminations
- • Look for ways to increase efficiency and proper ergonomics.
- • Maintain a healthy work environment for co-workers
- • Assist in problem-solving issues as needed
- • Scout and recruit new set-up operators (as needed)
- • Help to decide what will go and will not go (within reason)
- • Perform evaluations
- • Enforce safety standards and proper housekeeping
- • Wear all PPE as required
- • Help maintain and resupply materials needed for jobs
- • At the beginning of each shift, catalog and record what is running and not running and the reason for not running
- • Keep up to date with paperwork (e.g., Change over, set-up work done sheet)
- • Work with the press supervisors to coordinate set-up.
- • Help coordinate which bolsters and chutes will work for what dies and in what presses
- • Help train new personnel on more advanced portions of the set-up job system
Requirements
Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Required
• Good math skills and ability to comprehend instructions
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Able to use calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools.
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, operating instructions, and procedures
• Able to operate computers and basic software
• Attention to detail
• High School Diploma
• Ability to follow and implement safety rules.
• Education Requirements- High Scholl Diploma or equivalent
• Experience Requirements- Level 4 or higher
• Leadership skills with the ability to supervise, train, and remain impartial and fair to all employees.
Preferred:
• Experience working with tight tolerance progressive die-stamped parts
• Experience operating lamination presses
Physical Demands
I• It involves walking and standing for long periods of time throughout the day.
• It requires being able to lift 50 pounds and push and pull up to 75 pounds.
• Stooping/bending/twisting regularly.
• Our fast-paced environment typically operates on a standard 45-hour week, but it's important to note that flexibility is a key part of this role. Overtime may be necessary as the workload dictates, including weekdays, weekends, and/or holidays. This requires a level of adaptability and open-mindedness from potential candidates.
Work Environment:
Work performed in a manufacturing environment and regularly exposed to dust, odors, oil, fumes, and noise. Working with heavy equipment, and machinery that is dangerous, it requires wearing personal protective or safety equipment. Requires working in a non-air-conditioned variable temperature factory setting.
