Summary
A Laboratory Technician at Eustis Engineering will perform a variety of standardized tests in accordance with established, clearly defined procedures following explicit oral and/or written instructions from the Operations Manager or Assistant Manager at the commencement of the testing process. The technician utilizes a variety of basic laboratory instruments, devices, and equipment in accomplishing these tests.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
This level of Laboratory Technician will perform the simpler and more common tests in the laboratory, such as moisture content, grain size analyses, and Atterberg limits determinations. He/she will be trained on and assist with more advanced testing, such as visual classification of soils, unconfined compression shear tests, unconsolidated undrained triaxial compression shear tests, and standard and modified compaction tests. The Laboratory Technician will receive training on laboratory safety and basic first aid. He/she will be responsible for cleaning and washing laboratory equipment periodically as well as performing normal janitorial duties within the laboratory area.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This job has no supervisory responsibilities. The Laboratory Technician is under the direct supervision of the Operations Manager and the Assistant Laboratory Managers. When being trained, the Laboratory Technician will be under the supervision of the training technician as designated by the Assistant Laboratory Managers.

Education and/or Experience
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Mathematical Skills
