What To Expect
Tesla’s Engineering team is looking for an experienced & driven Project Engineer to drive improvement projects across all areas of Operations: production, engineering, maintenance, & quality. Successful candidate will be responsible for managing process improvement projects, operational excellence initiatives, & leading Operations review meetings for cell manufacturing lines.
What You'll Do
Manage improvements activities across the Manufacturing organization (KPI improvement projects, operational excellence initiatives, major performance gaps)Successfully identify bottlenecks, perform problem solving, and propose improvement solutionsLead critical engineering production alignment discussions & interface with NPI, Operations, Process, Quality & Design teams on component/process changesSupport production capacity studies, ramp plan, and cost reviewsExecute quality issue resolution, and safety improvement projectsWork with manufacturing, quality department, & support teams to establish & improve processesCommunicating plans, plan revisions, & production vs. plan to all Manufacturing, support, & business stakeholdersWork with finance & data analyst to deliver clear business case and projection of the impact of planned projectsEffectively plan with Operations, Vendors, & Contractors; & facilitate expedition of projects & services to ManufacturingDevelop robust and clear data collection, visualization, and analysis. Enable data driven operational and financial decisions through predictive insights
What You'll Bring
3 year operations management experience in the battery or high-volume Manufacturing industries Degree in Engineering, or equivalent experience with commissioning equipment, fixtures, improving Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) improvement, and process flowCan demonstrate ability to meet deadlines & perform under high pressureManage production performance metrics (efficiency, quality, safety, throughput, costs)Communicate clearly using excellent written & verbal skillsStrong organization skills with meticulous attention to detailExperience of programming and data visualization tools such as MySQL, Python, Minitab, Power Bi, and Tableau is preferredExperience with Project Management tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Microsoft Project is preferred, but not requiredFluent with common MS office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
