What To Expect
Tesla is seeking a Quality Engineering Technician to ensure in-process products meet quality requirements and specifications. You will be responsible for identifying quality issues within the manufacturing environment, supporting investigations and root cause analysis, collecting relevant process and product data, and managing non-conforming material. You will work closely with Production and Engineering teams to maintain rapid response and drive continuous improvements in the production process.

What You'll Do
Conduct inspections and tests on incoming materials, in-process components, and finished products to ensure they meet specifications and quality standards Document inspection and testing results accurately, maintaining detailed records of findings, and reporting any deviations from standards to relevant stakeholders Work closely with the quality/process engineering teams to identify areas for process improvement and support root cause analysis of quality issues, containing suspect products, sorting defective products and corrective actions, preventive actions (CAPA) Lead and/or support with successful completion of engineering trials, new lines or equipment validations Create and maintain quality instructions, alerts, and audit plans Provide training to manufacturing staff on quality inspection techniques, quality issues and corrective actions, and troubleshooting processes as required
What You'll Bring
Associate's Degree in Engineering Technology, Quality Assurance, or equivalent experience4 years of experience in quality control or quality engineering, preferably in a high-volume manufacturing environment Strong knowledge of quality standards, inspection techniques, and testing methods Proficiency with measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machines) Experience with statistical process control (SPC) and other quality data analysis techniques Strong attention to detail and ability to analyze and interpret data accurately Command of the English Language, both written and verbal. Excellent communication and teamwork skills
