Position Summary
Plug Power Inc. is actively seeking a highly motivated Intern. The Intern will be responsible for assisting the Stack Engineering design team in a wide variety of initiatives and projects in support of the department’s projects with a focus on prototype builds and product quality improvement activities. In this role, you will gain exposure to a fast-paced manufacturing and engineering environment which includes developing a detailed understanding of Plug Power’s fuel cell stack products. The role will focus on the successful completion of technical projects, process improvement, documentation, and presentation of results at the end of the program.

Learning Objectives
- Use hands-on prototype build and test techniques to validate new fuel cell stack technologies component level changes, and manufacturing improvements
- Work with a cross-functional team to coordinate the required materials, equipment, personnel, and build documentation through the entire build and test process
- Understand and develop new methods and associated documentation to improve stack assembly and related component level quality
- Support prototype and production fuel cell stack builds with NPI, Production, Quality, and Process Manufacturing Engineering teams
- Ensure proper documentation to capture stack related issues along with development and implementation of corrective actions
- Use 3D CAD software to develop models and drawings for fixtures and components required for product validation
- Brainstorm and down select future improvements to improve cycle time and quality of fuel cell stack builds.
- Work with senior level engineers and management to interpret and analyze data
- Understand engineering concepts and how to appropriately apply them in day to day projects
- Represent Plug Power in a professional manner at all times and in all interactions
- Perform all other duties as assigned
- Pursuing a Bachelor of Science or Master's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical or a related program
- Prior Internship or Co-op experience preferred
- Must have reliable transportation to the office
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Background/experience with 3D CAD software
- Possess solid hands-on approach to problem-solving
- Computer and software systems skills as applicable to position including but not limited to: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to manage complex projects and multi-task effectively
- Demonstrated analytical abilities with strong attention to detail
- Excellent follow-through
- Must be driven and self-motivated
- Must possess the highest ethical standards and a commitment to work quality
- This would be a role located in the Rochester, NY Gigafactory with the desired duration being May to August 2025
