Job Summary
The hours/shifts are Monday-Friday 5:00am to 12:00pm and/or 7:00am to 2:00pm. Saturdays 7:00am to 12:00pm.
The role of a CADC Counselor for our organization is to provide direct services to persons served and their families in accordance with the management policies & procedures, accreditation standards, state and federal rules and regulations.
Responsibilities and Duties
The candidate(s) will be responsible for (1)reviewing treatment cases and the use of other techniques for the purpose of assuring that a patient's clinical needs are met. (2)Work with individuals, groups, and families as clinically indicated. (3) Perform the following tasks also: (a) Screening (b) Assessment and Evaluation (c) Treatment Planning (d) Crisis Intervention (e) Referrals Activities (f) Clients Didactic Education, Individuals, Groups and Family Sessions (g) Case Management and Consultation (h) Clinical Recordkeeping (i) Recovery Support (j) Intensive outpatient treatment when recommended by a physician. and (k) Conducts random urinalysis drug testing for persons served as regulated by the SOP, state and federal regulations and accreditation standards.(4)Learn and maintain functional computer skills to support daily functions electronically (5) Participate in the organization’s Quality Improvement activities (6) Participate in scheduled in-service training and staff development programs. (7) Develop and maintain healthy client relations skills. (8) Has excellent attendance and no tardiness, except excused by management or emergency call. (9) Has a positive attitude towards the organization, and supports the goals and objectives. (10) Develop sound working relationships with Supervisors, co-workers, and outside parties. (11) Represent the organization with a positive image, and attend required meetings and presentations. (12) Analyze problems, evaluate facts, leading to sound conclusions, and takes corrective action to solve problems in a timely manner. (13) Uphold Organization Codes of Conduct/Professional Code of Ethics/Maintain Certification. (14) Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
(1) Knowledge of Therapy and Dynamics of Counseling. (2) Knowledge of Client Assessment and Referral. (3) Knowledge of Crisis Intervention. (4) Knowledge of Case Management and Recordkeeping. (5) Knowledge of Treatment Planning / Coordination. (6) Skill in operating a personal computer. (7) Ability to maintain the confidentiality of classified information. (8) Ability to hear and speak well enough to facilitate counseling sessions. (9) Ability to maintain up-to-date accurate and understandable case files and records, including history, intake, progress reports, staffing, referral disposition, and termination. (10) Ability to evaluate and determine appropriate health/human service providers as part of a treatment team. (11) Ability to develop a treatment plan for initial, intermediate and aftercare needs of clients. (12) Ability to communicate with employees and other business contacts in a courteous and professional manner. (13) Ability to see well enough to use a computer efficiently and read computer reports and correspondence on a timely basis. (14) Must be certified and/or licensed in the State of Illinois as a Counselor, or must meet other state requirements to practice Counseling. Bachelor’s Degree in Social Services, Clinical Psychology or any related field is preferred but will accept any candidate with high school diploma or Associates Degree and previous experience and certification in conducting substance abuse/dependency assessments and other treatment activities.
