General Position Description:
Our small busy Endocrinology practice supports one Physician and requires a part time (up to 20 Hours per week) Office Clerk/Medical Records Administrator. This position will require organizing and maintaining patient records, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and efficient retrieval within a healthcare setting.
Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
· Organizing, Filing and Preparing: Maintaining patient files (both paper and electronic), ensuring they are accurate, complete, and easily accessible. Candidate will be required to prepare paper charts for upcoming appointments, and all charts are put away at the end of the day.
· Data Entry and Retrieval: Inputting patient information into electronic health records systems and obtaining patient lab and imaging results.
· Record Retrieval: Locating and retrieving patient records as needed for appointments, referrals, or other purposes.
· Confidentiality: Protecting the confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations and other privacy laws.
· Record Requests: Responding to requests for medical records, ensuring proper authorization and identification.
· Quality Assurance: Reviewing records for accuracy and completeness.
· Mail Management: Sorting and distributing incoming mail and faxes, and preparing outgoing mail.
· Filing and Record Keeping: Maintaining organized filing systems for various documents and records.

Additional

- Prior experience in a medical office setting
- Specific EMR experience preferred
The position is based out of the Cranberry office and requires ability to stand and sit for hours at a time, (with some bending and stooping), ability to use manual dexterity in relation to clinical requirements, and ability to lift 20 lbs.
The candidate will be required to comply with requirements of appropriate regulatory agencies (i.e. OSHA, CLIA, PA Department of Health). Maintain strict confidentiality related to medical records and other data. Comply with all UPMC Health System policies and procedures.
