About the Role
As a Staff Accountant you will be responsible for analyzing and reporting business costs while supporting critical financial functions such as cost accounting bill of material (BOM) audits and financial analysis. You will be actively involved in the monthend close process audit support and special projects that contribute to the companys financial success.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Customer Service and Purchasing teams to develop accurate quotes.
- Assist in OEM project pricing proposals to ensure competitive and profitable pricing.
- Perform adhoc cost analysis to support operational decisions.
- Participate in monthend close activities including journal entries and reconciliations.
- Support audit requests by preparing and providing financial data as needed.
- Prepare and file sales tax returns in compliance with regulations.
- Track analyze and report on warranty costs to support business decisions.
- Work closely with Production teams to maintain accurate and uptodate Bill of Materials (BOMs) through regular audits and reviews.
- Partner with Accounts Receivable to manage cash applications and monthend reconciliations.
- Analyze actual labor material and overhead costs versus budget / standards providing insights on variances.
- Assist the Controller in implementing and improving cost accounting policies and internal controls.
- Develop and maintain labor and overhead rates budgets and forecasts.
- Take on additional responsibilities as assigned by management.
