Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Medical Assistant (MA) to join our team in conducting Social Security Disability and independent medical examinations (IMEs). This role focuses on efficient and accurate clinical documentation and patient intake, rather than ongoing treatment. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, familiar with electronic health record (EHR) systems, and able to support physicians in providing timely, high-quality disability assessments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet patients and assist with intake procedures in a professional manner
- Accurately document current medications, allergies, medical history, and surgical history in the EHR
- Obtain and record vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, height, and weight
- Prepare examination rooms and maintain a clean, organized clinical environment
- Support physician during examinations by ensuring proper documentation and patient comfort
- Update electronic medical records (EHR) with complete and accurate data
- Assist in collecting supporting documentation for disability reports
- Ensure all information is handled in compliance with HIPAA and SSA documentation standards
- Coordinate patient flow to ensure efficiency and minimize wait times
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a clinical setting preferred, especially in disability exams, occupational medicine, geriatrics, or primary care
- Familiarity with EHR platforms and medical documentation best practices
- Proficient in taking vital signs and performing basic clinical assessments
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA or RMA) preferred but not required
- Professional, reliable, and compassionate with all patient interactions
