Job Summary
The Trades Assistant will perform duties assigned by the electrical, construction, and plumbing supervisors, as needed. General duties include performing basic repair and maintenance on electrical systems and assisting other trades on the Evangel University campus and at off-site rental properties.
Duties And Responsibilities
Occasionally works at elevated heights
Occasionally works in confined areas
Occasionally works in proximity of hot pipes, containers and high-pressure steam.
Occasionally works with and in proximity of electrically energized equipment.
Frequently works with corrosive chemicals.
May work in proximity of friable asbestos materials.

Respiratory illness

Job Summary
The Trades Assistant will perform duties assigned by the electrical, construction, and plumbing supervisors, as needed. General duties include performing basic repair and maintenance on electrical systems and assisting other trades on the Evangel University campus and at off-site rental properties.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Ensure the security of all keys issued by the university.
- Electrical duties will include:
- Replacing ballast and lamps
- Replacing plugs, switches, and lights
- Resetting breakers
- An ability to work at heights of 40-50 feet on various lifts
- Assist in stocking materials and other duties as assigned by the Electrical Supervisor
- Maintaining a clean and safe work area and environment
- Ongoing training in electrical
- Willingness and ability to serve on-call hours for overnight & weekend emergencies
- Participation in snow removal during winter months
- Provided: training in various lifts, hand tools, work truck,
- Provide general maintenance help as needed for other shops (Construction shop mainly)
- Work on Projects as needed on campus, mainly during summer or winter breaks.
- Some overtime required as needed, but not typical.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Basic knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) (preferred)
- Willingness to learn the electrical trade
- Has a strong knowledge and aptitude for the electrical trade
- Experience in basic electrical, plumbing, general maintenance and construction work
- Mechanical ability and aptitude to learn trades
- Good physical condition
- Able to work at heights and in small spaces
- Familiarity with various hand and power tools
- Class “E” driver’s license (or ability to gain within first 90 days of employment)
- Need to be professional with good people skills around faculty, staff and students
- Ability to work unassisted on basic electrical repairs
