Job Summary:
Custodian
This position is responsible for providing care, maintenance, sanitation, cleanliness and safety for the physical plant and grounds of the school. The Custodian will be responsible for completing assigned tasks to expectations of Supervisor, participating in general cleaning of the school building, utilizing safety procedures and precautions, and performing all tasks necessary to provide a clean building and grounds.

Key Responsibilities:
- Complete assigned tasks to expectations of Supervisor
- Participate in general cleaning of the school building
- Utilize safety procedures and precautions in work
- Perform tasks necessary to provide a clean building and grounds
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, including all fixtures, faucets, drains, windows, mirrors, commodes, sinks, urinals, vents, floors, and walls daily
- Clean windows, furniture, and equipment in all assigned areas
- Mop, sweep, and vacuum hard surfaces of assigned rooms and halls
- Empty and clean trash cans in all assigned areas
- Assist in maintaining an inventory of custodial supplies, tools, and materials
- Provide emergency clean-up for spills and mishaps throughout the building
- Lock custodial closet and secure supplies
- Assist in lifting and moving objects as required
- Assist in setting up building for programs, meetings, etc.
- Follow work schedule and attendance requirements
- Keep supervisor informed of potential problems or opportunities for improvement
- Demonstrate initiative in performance of assigned responsibilities
- Participate in system training opportunities
Requirements:
- Ability to read basic operating instructions
- Demonstrated aptitude for successful completion of tasks assigned
- Sound physical and mental health
- Proficient in use of custodial equipment, tools, and cleaning chemicals
