**Job Overview:**
The Evans County Board of Education seeks a skilled Facilities Maintenance Specialist to join its team. This critical role is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and safety of our school buildings and grounds.
**Responsibilities:**
- Complete assigned tasks to expectations of Supervisor.
- Participate in the general cleaning of the school building.
- Utilize safety procedures and precautions in his/her work.
- Perform all tasks necessary to provide a clean building and grounds.
**Key Responsibilities:
- Cleans and sanitizes restrooms, including all fixtures, faucets, drains, windows, mirrors, commodes, sinks, urinals, vents, floors, and walls daily.
- Cleans windows, furniture, and equipment in all assigned areas.
- Mops, sweeps, and vacuums hard surfaces of assigned rooms and halls.
- Empties and cleans trash cans in all assigned areas.
- Assists in maintaining an inventory of custodial supplies, tools, and materials for use in the building.
- Provides emergency clean-up for spills and mishaps throughout the building.
- Locks custodial closet and secures supplies.
- Assists in lifting and moving objects as required.
- Assists in setting up building for programs, meetings, etc. as required.
**Physical Requirements:**
This position requires heavy work, exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
