Evans & Dixon is currently seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our growing St. Louis office. This is a great opportunity for a tech-savvy and organized professional who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
As an AP Specialist, you will play a key role in our daily financial operations, ensuring that all transactions are processed accurately and efficiently. You'll collaborate across departments, support month-end closing, and help maintain the integrity of our financial data and vendor relationships.
Successful candidates will have a durable work ethic, superior ability to multitask, and enjoy working in a fast pace and intellectually stimulating setting.
Responsibilities:
- Review, input, and route vendor invoices to appropriate department heads within the accounting system
- Prepare and process check runs, credit card, and electronic payments
- Construct and/generate payables reports
- Review invoice exceptions in A/P processing system to determine corrective action
- Respond to vendor inquires on current and past due invoices
- Perform vendor setup and assist with 1099 filings
- Review and process expense reimbursement
- Collect and verify credit card receipts, post payments, and reconcile monthly statement
- Assist with month-end AP Close
- Maintain the AP email inbox
Skills and Specifications:
- Accounts Payable experience
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles
- Experienced in accounting systems
- Strong Time Management skills
- Strong attention to detail with a dedication to accuracy
- Ability to analyze large sets of data
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Education and Qualifications:
- Must have prior accounts payable experience
- Highschool Diploma/GED required
- Experience in managing general accounting tasks and duties
