Evans Equipment & Environmental is a sale, service and rental company established in 1987. Our specialty is industrial water treatment equipment. As our name implies, we are proponents for the environment, focusing on wastewater recycling equipment that captures, filters and recycles wash water from pressure washers , steam cleaners, and wash bays.
THE OPPORTUNITY
Evans Equipment and Environmental is currently seeking a motivated, hard-working Service Manager to support our growth in Broussard, Louisiana and surrounding region. The position requires managing our team of service technicians and parts for the Lafayette branch. Responsibilities include assigning service calls, providing direction, training service team, and managing inventory.
ABOUT THE JOB
The position services and repairs our custom biological water treatment systems, evaporators, beam pumps, steam cleaners, and pressure washers. The Service Manager is responsible for overlooking a team that repairs and maintains equipment. He/she will manage time independently by completing daily repair calls in an efficient manner. Other job requirement includes selling preventive maintenance contracts and up-sells added chemicals to customers.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Disassemble broken or defective equipment to facilitate repair and reassemble equipment when repairs are complete.
· Install or replace machinery, equipment, and new or replacement parts and instruments, using hand or power tools.
· Transfer tools, parts, equipment, and supplies to and from work stations and customer sites.
· Examine and test machinery, equipment, components, and parts for defects to ensure proper functioning.
· Adjust, connect, or disconnect wiring, piping, tubing, and other parts using hand or power tools.
· Observe and test the operation of machinery or equipment in order to diagnose malfunctions, using voltmeters or other testing devices.
· Operate newly repaired machinery or equipment to verify the adequacy of repairs.
· Clean, lubricate, or adjust parts, equipment, or machinery.
· Record repairs and maintenance performed for customer as well as company records.
· Comply with all applicable standards, policies, and procedures, including safety procedures and the maintenance of a clean work area.
· Inspect and test systems to verify system compliance with plans and specifications or to detect and locate malfunctions.
· Monitor tool and part inventories and the condition and maintenance of shop to ensure adequate and safe working conditions.
· Recommend or initiate personnel actions, such as hires, promotions, transfers, discharges, or disciplinary measures.
· Develop, implement, or evaluate maintenance policies and procedures.
· Conduct or arrange for employee training in safety, repair, or maintenance techniques, operational procedures, or equipment use.
· Prepares quotes for equipment repairs.
· Coordination of building and installation of bio systems.
REQUIREMENTS:
· Applicants must have 5 years experience in basic electrical and mechanical work.
· Applicants must have 2 – 5 years management and leadership experience in a similar industry.
· Must have knowledge of natural gas and propane heating systems.
· Advanced ability to work effectively in a team environment.
· Ability to implement and complete action plans.
· Must be adaptable to working on computer system to efficiently handle customer transactions - NetSuite experience is a plus. Professional email etiquette is required.
· Ability to multi-task and detail oriented while holding a positive attitude.
· Flexible and willingness to accept additional responsibility.
· Candidate must be willing to travel to other company locations or customer sites on an as-need basis.
