Summary
We are seeking an experienced Preconstruction Manager specializing in Data Center and Mission-Critical projects to join our team in Dallas, TX. This role involves leading preconstruction efforts, including developing budgets, schedules, cost models, and scope-of-work documents, while ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety protocols. The Preconstruction Manager will collaborate closely with clients, subcontractors, internal teams, and other company offices to drive project alignment, efficiency, and successful outcomes. Strong communication, leadership, and multitasking skills are essential for success in this role.
Responsibilities

Preconstruction Planning & Management:
- Lead preconstruction efforts for data center and mission-critical projects.
- Develop and manage budgets, estimates, and schedules from conceptual through detailed design.
- Create detailed scope-of-work documents and coordinate with design teams to ensure project requirements are accurately captured.
- Perform constructability reviews to identify potential issues and recommend efficient solutions.
- Prepare detailed cost models, value engineering assessments, and risk management plans.
- Coordinate with estimating teams to prepare accurate cost proposals and bid packages.
- Develop and maintain preconstruction schedules to align with project milestones and client expectations.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety protocols, and company policies.

Client & Business Development:
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure satisfaction and repeat business.
- Participate in client presentations, proposals, and interviews to secure new projects.
- Collaborate with the business development team to identify new opportunities within the Data Center market.
- Provide valuable insights to enhance client proposals and win strategies.
- Subcontractor & Partner Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors and vendor partners.
- Prequalify subcontractors and ensure alignment with project requirements and standards.
- Manage subcontractor bid processes, including scope review, leveling, and selection.
- Facilitate collaboration and communication between all project stakeholders.
- Collaboration Across Teams & Offices:
- Work closely with internal teams, including engineering, design, estimating, and project management, to ensure project alignment and success.
- Coordinate with other company offices to share resources, knowledge, and best practices.
- Foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement across regional and national teams.
- Project Risk & Value Management:
- Identify and mitigate project risks, ensuring feasibility and value optimization.
- Engage in design review processes to ensure constructability and cost-effectiveness.
- Prepare and present comprehensive reports, proposals, and cost analyses.
Qualifications/Requirements:

Experience:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of preconstruction experience within the Mission Critical commercial construction industry (5 years preferred).
- Prior experience with Mission Critical is required.

Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Construction Science, or Mechanical/Electrical/Civil Engineering preferred.
- Industry hires with relevant experience are also highly valued.

Skills:
- Strong understanding of cost estimation, scheduling, and project planning.
- Proficiency with Microsoft software (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), Bluebeam, and various project management tools.
- Proficiency with Destini Estimating software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask and manage multiple projects.
- Self-starter with a high degree of personal responsibility and integrity.
- Ability to travel to multiple job sites as needed.
