VDC Construction Manager

Summary/Objective

The Construction Technology Manager contributes and supports specific VDC (Virtual Design and Construction) implementation of Construction Technology needs of our complex project types in our Advanced Technology, Life Sciences and Manufacturing core markets. The Construction Technology Manager supports project teams in the planning, management, project completion and closeout of assigned Projects. The Construction Technology Manager should be able to manage day-to-day VDC activities, identify and ensure prompt resolution of issues, and work together with the Project Team to ensure the Work is proceeding on schedule, within budget and according to contract requirements and specifications. 

Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead, develop, mentor a group of VDC specialists 
• Create and manage a VDC departmental plan 
• Work with project teams to create a BIM execution plan, including developing scope of work and required level of detail (LOD)
• Lead and manage coordination of complex MEP systems throughout the design process, BIM coordination, submittal, and construction of the project.
• Perform model QAQC to ensure compliance with client expectations and Contract Documents.
• Work with Trade Contractor and Designers to achieve spatial coordination of all trades 
• Run daily and weekly meetings to achieve coordination and deadlines
• Keep track of and report on project progress specific to VDC/BIM/CTS
• Assists in the preparation of daily, weekly, and monthly reports detailing the status of BIM efforts
• Communicate with Superintendent and Project Manager to understand priority, workflow and issues 
• Maintain good relationships with the Owner, Architect, Engineers, Subcontractors and Suppliers involved with the project
• Create training and continuous education materials to enhance every associate understanding of VDC, BIM and Construction Technology. 
• Research, create value propositions, testing plans and use cases for Construction Technology. Lead field integration of higher utilization of VDC, BIM and CTS technology in the field.  
• Provide feedback on hardware and software requirements to preform responsibilities 
• Assist with preparing the job start-up and close-out checklists
• Ability to conceptualize potential projects and create business development pursuit materials and animations 
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in VDC, Construction Management, Building Science or Construction Management or Engineering Degree with VDC/BIM focus and experience 
• Minimum of 3-5 years is preferred
• Experience and knowledge of construction technology and BIM applications 
• Ability to learn new software skills and teach fellow associates 
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Knowledge of Autodesk Cloud platform is preferred 
• Knowledge of Autodesk Revit platform is preferred 
• Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships
• Self-starter with a high degree of personal responsibility and integrity
• Ability to travel to project sites to promote VDC, BIM and Construction Technology as required
• Detail oriented
