What are the responsibilities and job description for the Billing Lead position at Evans Transportation Services, Inc?
Under the direction of the Finance Manager this role will be responsible for maintaining accurate and timely billing for our customers, troubleshooting issues, and overseeing the billing department.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise and mentor billing staff, including performance reviews and development plans.
- Develop and implement billing policies and procedures.
- Update TMS for customer billing.
- Contact freight carriers for missing information and problem resolution.
- Monitor billing processes to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Oversee the resolution of complex billing issues and disputes.
- Collaborate with other departments to improve billing processes and customer satisfaction.
- Prepare and analyze billing reports, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
- Create and be accountable for key performance metrics.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and industry standards.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
- 2 years of experience in leading a team.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Problem solving and analytical skills.
- High attention to detail.
- Ability to read, write, type, and speak English fluently.
- Experience with Microsoft Office – must be proficient in Excel. An Excel-based skills test will be administered to determine level of proficiency.
- Knowledge of ERP and billing software.
PERFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred.
- Ability to speak Spanish is a plus.
