Groundskeeping Internship
The Evansville Otters have seasonal internships available for the 2025 season. The internship positions are summer positions that start around April 1st and run through the conclusion of the season (end of August or early September).
Built in 1915, Bosse Field is the third oldest operating ballpark in the country. Interns have a chance to work in one of America’s last remaining true baseball cathedrals.
Everyone working in minor league baseball wears many different “hats,” so a willingness to go above and beyond one’s normal duties is expected. Candidates are required to be enthusiastic with a great desire to put on a night of entertainment and memories for all the fans at historic Bosse Field.

Job Summary:
Our groundskeeping intern will play a critical role in the operation of the game at Bosse Field. Whether it be setting up and taking down batting practice, dragging and marking the field, or pulling tarp in weather situations, the groundskeeping intern must perform their duties in an efficient manner, while tasked with many different variables on game nights.
Essential Job Functions:
- Assist with batting practice setup and tear down
- Prepare field for game and conduct post-game clean up
- Ensure that industry quality standards and specifications for the playing surface are met or exceeded
- Safely and successfully operate machinery
- Assist with dragging the infield between innings during the game
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Work under fast paced, high stress situations
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and long hours
- Able to work in all weather conditions
- Must have a positive attitude
- Internship runs from April to September
