We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Medical Biller to join our Skilled Nursing and Assisted Living Community. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of medical terminology and coding practices, including ICD-10 and DRG. This role is crucial in ensuring accurate billing and collections for medical services provided, as well as maintaining the integrity of medical records. Responsibilities
- Process and manage patient billing information accurately and efficiently to Medicare, Medicaid, and other Managed Care insurance companies.
- Complete private billing for Skilled Nursing residents as well as Assisted Living residents.
- Send invoices to long-term care insurance companies for resident reimbursement.
- Review claims to ensure all required codes and other information is included on the claim before billing
- Handle collections by following up on outstanding accounts and resolving discrepancies.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify any issues related to billing or coding.
- Assist in the preparation of reports related to billing activities and collections.
- Work with area leadership, including business office staff, to ensure that billing and follow-up is timely.
- Work closely with resource to collect all revenue billed in a timely manner.
Experience
- Proven experience in SNF billing is required.
- Familiarity with ICD-10 and other relevant coding systems is essential.
- Knowledge of medical terminology is required to accurately process billing information.
- Experience in managing medical collections and understanding of insurance claims processing is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills is necessary for success in this role.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
