What are the responsibilities and job description for the Nursing Assistant-Operating Room position at Evansville Surgery Center?
Evansville Surgery Center is seeking a full-time (Monday-Friday) day shift Nursing Assistant in our Operating Rooms at the Deaconess Gateway Campus.
JOB SUMMARY: Provides patient care activities and related services as directed by registered nurse or other professional caregivers. The nursing assistant must be able to demonstrate growth and development knowledge and skills to provide patient care appropriate to the age of the patients served.
DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides or assists with basic patient care as delegated by RN, and in cooperation with other team members (i.e. assisting with activities of daily living, providing nourishment, assisting with admission/discharge/transfer process, assisting with positioning and holding for preps in the Operating Room).*
- Operates patient care, medical and office equipment.**
- Performs activities secondary to direct patient care (i.e. transport of patients specimens, checking and stocking supplies, assists with cleaning of Operating Rooms, empties trash, cleans carts and PACU rooms after discharge of patients).**
- Participates on committees and performance improvements as appropriate.**
- Complies with ESC policies and procedures and standards of employee conduct.**
- Completes annual mandatory inservices. Maintains confidential passwords for computer learning. Takes responsibility for completion of learning assignments on time.**
- Performs other duties as assigned.*
