Location Manager - EVPL Oaklyn
Starting Salary: $70,720 annually
Hours: Full-Time 40 hours
Must be available to work all public service hours; which includes weekends and occasional Sundays

POSITION SUMMARY
The Location Manager provides consultation, advice, and input to colleagues and patrons to ensure continuous improvement and consistency in the way in which library patrons experience the library. The Location Manager leads, runs, and oversees the daily operation of a library location, including but not limited to directing the work of staff, handling conflict, coaching/mentoring, being mindful of the condition of the facility, problem solving, decision making, scheduling, and staying current with library knowledge relating to trends, issues, and practices.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
In cooperation with the Director of Public Services and other colleagues, the Location Manager will advance the library’s mission, vision, strategic priorities, and brand. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Schedule, coordinate, delegate, counsel, evaluate, and recommend hiring or discharge of department staff.
- Participate in staff planning and training.
- Effectively lead, empower, and supervise staff to enable a patron-centric experience environment.
- Interact with library patrons, colleagues, and community members across multiple points of service in a library facility, designated outreach/engagement locations, online or via telephone in a manner that contributes to a delightful library experience.
- Handle escalated patron contacts with compassion, grace, and authority.
- Evaluate patron experience and make appropriate improvements to ensure patron retention.
- Actively lead and contribute to the development of annual planning initiatives and development of services, programs, and policies, and coordination of activities within the Public Services Team.
- Lead and participate in multiple complex projects involving multiple patrons, interests, and goals.
- Prepare monthly and periodic reports as required/requested.
- Prepare a variety of statistical, strategic, or informational reports, and presentations for a variety of audiences.
- Occasionally serve as liaison and develop relationships to community organizations.
- Occasionally work the reference and/or circulation desk.
- Proactively work collaboratively with the HR Team, Director of Public Services, and COO to identify current and future staff training needs and ensure that training needs are addressed.
- Energetically serve as a member of the leadership team, providing input for the strategic plan, developing policies, procedures, initiatives, and decisions.
- Participate in special projects, or other duties, as assigned.
