Program Dates: June 2 - June 27, 2025
Hours: 8:45am- 1:15pm - All locations will be paid for 4.5 hours per day.
Salary: EVSC teachers receive regular hourly rate
Education: Bachelors in Education from an NCATE approved program; license in content area

SUMMARY:
You must have the required 25 hours from the Early Literacy Endorsement Verified Professional Development Programs. You will provide this documentation to HR.
The EVSC seeks exceptional individuals who have demonstrated strong knowledge of reading and mathematics processes, acquisition, assessment, evaluation, and instruction. The primary role of the Summer Success teacher is to provide high-quality reading instruction to students who are currently in grades K-5 and demonstrate need for additional support in reading instruction. This need is based upon the recommendation of the school, benchmark data, and/or IREAD scores. The focus of this program is to provide intensive, focused reading interventions for students in order to support their learning in the next school year. Students in this program will participate in a four week, intensive summer intervention. Students who participated in Spring IREAD administration and did not pass will have the opportunity to retake IREAD at the end of this program. (Students who do not pass the summer assessment will receive third grade reading instruction in the next school year.) The summer IREAD teacher will also participate in the administration of the Summer IREAD assessment. All Summer Success morning teachers will need to participate in mandatory professional development on the dates listed below and utilize the district provided curricular resources. This program will take place at multiple sites, and eligible students from other EVSC schools will be provided transportation to these sites.

Use district resources to deliver engaging, differentiated, standards-based interventions based on data analysis and knowledge of developmental reading
Focused use of instructional time to include experiences that are academically rigorous and engaging
Implement district Summer STEAM Materials
Utilize technology to administer the IREAD Summer assessment while adhering to test policy and test security protocol procedures
Work directly with the school site coordinator/building principal
