    SALARY
    Salary will be commensurate with the level of education and experience of the recommended candidate.

    Range:
    Career Path I: $46,000 - $65,500
    Career Path II: $47,500 - $91,000

    This position is eligible for medical, dental and vision insurance coverage on the employee, spouse, and eligible dependents.     Retirement:
    As a contract teacher, this position will automatically be enrolled in the Teacher Retirement Fund (TRF) through the state of Indiana, which includes a defined benefit (Pension) as well as an Annuity Savings Account (ASA). In addition, this position is eligible to enroll in a 401(a) retirement investment plan, a 403(b) Match Program, and a tax-free post-retirement medical expense account (VEBA).

    Additional Benefits:
    Employees enrolled in an EVSC medical insurance plan are eligible to use our Health & Wellness Centers conveniently located within the community. These are no-cost health clinics that provide primary care treatment, generic prescription medications (at no cost), physicals, health screenings, and labs. Accumulated sick leave days and personal business days will be provided under this position as well. Additionally, EVSC employees have access to EVSC Wee Care, our employee-only early learning centers. Wee Care provides a quality early learning experience for children as young as six weeks through age five.

    POSITION OVERVIEW
    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to instruct students and facilitate their learning in accordance with corporation policies and state guidelines. Assists students in learning subject matter, skills, competencies, and ethics that will contribute to their growth as mature, responsible and productive members of the community.
    SUMMARY:
    Instructs and guides students to learn subject matter and skills that will contribute to their development as mature, able, and responsible men and women prepared to enter the workforce and continue lifelong learning through a variety of opportunities, including two-
    and four-year college programs, apprenticeships, employer training and retraining programs, and the military.
    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned.
    • Teaches corporation-approved curriculum
    • Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated
    • ?Plans a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students
    • Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interest of the students
    • Collaborates with students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior
    • Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and, in harmony with the goals, establishes clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects to communicate these objectives to students
    • Recognizes the special needs of students with learning disabilities, seeks the assistance of corporation specialists, as needed and/or required, and makes appropriate individualized physical and instructional accommodations within the classroom
    • Evaluates pupils’ academic and social growth, keeps appropriate records and prepares progress reports
    • Is available to students and parents for education-related purposes
    • Makes adjustments in teaching style and content to meet the learning styles of all students
    • Incorporates practical applications to basic skills in English, communication, and mathematics into classroom delivery of the technology curriculum
    • Instructs students in safety procedures and conditions for working in a machine intensive laboratory
    • Purchases, stores, organizes, and maintains laboratory supplies
    • Participates on appropriate committees at the building and corporation-wide level, as necessary, for designing and implementing curriculum and/or evaluating programs
    • May participate in or sponsor Career and Technical Student Organizations appropriate to curriculum area
    • Promotes student self-esteem and confidence in all aspects of classroom activities
    • Completes other duties as assigned
    • Maintains regular attendance
    • Establishes and maintains dual credit agreements with universities
    • Prepares students for industry certifications such as MSSC, OSHA, and others as needed.
    • Oversees student internships

    JOB SPECIFIC SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
    • Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory to the instructional program.
    • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, staff, and parents through oral and written communication.
    • Ability to perform duties with awareness of all corporation, state, and federal requirements.
    • Ability to plan and implement lessons based on corporation and school objectives and student needs and abilities.
    • Knowledge should include: basic understanding of manufacturing processes and the principles and practices associated with manufacturing, instructing for and maintaining safety in the classroom & lab environment, hand tools, print reading, sketching & drafting, precision measurement, tolerancing including geometric dimensioning & tolerancing, layout work, mill work, lathe work, grinding, CNC machining including Prototrak and MasterCam programming, other machines including drill press, band saws

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Supervises classrooms and students.
    Supervises students in Career and Technical Student Organization activities both in and
    outside of the school day.

    QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able
    to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative
    of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to

    EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
    Work experience preferred along with associate’s degree, bachelor’s degree, Department of
    Labor Journeyman’s Card or military experience in related to the precision machining, tool &
    die, or mold making field so candidate could qualify for occupational specialist licensing.
    Work experience should include one of the following:
    1. 5,000 hours (about 2.5 years of experience) in the last five (5) years.
    2. 4,000 hours (about 2 years) in the past ten (10) years and demonstration of
    occupational competency test.
    3. 4,000 hours (about 2 years) in the past ten (10) years and evidence of occupational
    licensure or occupational proficiency based on approved regional, state, or national
    board training and evaluation.
    4. 4,000 hours (about 2 years) in the past ten (10) years and completion of an accredited
    2-year or higher degree in the specific certification area
    5. 4,000 hours (about 2 years) in the past ten (10) years and completion of an
    apprenticeship or internship program.

    CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
    With above experience, candidate could qualify for occupational specialist licensing. A valid
    Indiana teaching certificate in appropriate grade level and area of study, or ability to apply for
    workplace specialist license by meeting the work experience criteria listed above.
