What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assembly Forklift Driver position at Evapco?
Job Description:
Treats the assembly personnel as their customer. Proactively delivers skids and parts to mechanics before they need them.
Patrols the assembly line to ensure mechanics have what they need before they need it and the isle ways are kept clear of waste, empty skids, etc.
Performs various forklift moves such as:
• Hauling skids from main building yard to assembly yard racks
• Bringing in parts to assembly line
• Removing empty skids from assembly line – keeping the aisleways free of clutter
• Taking parts outside the building
• Picking up trash and other 5S related tasks that require heavy lifting
• Moving out finished product
• Bringing fill and eliminator skids in and out of the building for the line and the cutter area
• Keeps the exterior of the building free and clear of clutter
Must be able to multi-task and stay on top of multiple requests from assembly personnel such as mechanics, team leads, and supervisors.
Is available and highly attentive to their 2-way radio on a regular and consistent basis.
Participates in team and shop business problem solving activities that could include anything from Quality, Productivity, Safety or other.
Meet or exceed annual safety, quality, 5S and productivity success targets.
Job Qualifications:
Must have a valid Evapco forklift license or be able to pass the certification.
Basic shop math (i.e. add/subtract/divide/multiply, whole numbers and fractions.)
Able to read/understand Production Orders & Shop drawings.
Familiar with EVAPCO product and components.
2 or more years of Material Handling experience preferred.
High School diploma or GED equivalent, preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to work safely and effectively in manufacturing and outdoor environments.
Ability to withstand continuous sitting, squatting, bending, pulling, standing and lifting throughout the workday.
Lifting of 50 lbs. or less and must wear required PPE.
