What are the responsibilities and job description for the Contracts Administrator position at Evapco?
Position summary:
The candidate will be responsible for reviewing, writing, negotiating, administering, monitoring and managing contracts in support of all lines of business/departments. This will include contracts where the Evapco company is the supplier or the buyer. There also will be opportunities to manage other legal matters, including patent and trademark registrations and litigation filings.
Key responsibilities:
- Review and comment upon draft buyer Terms and Conditions in support of the bid proposal process
- Review and comment upon contract or term revisions to Company’s standard terms and conditions that are proposed by suppliers
- Draft contract terms, amendments and addendums with input from legal counsel
- Review, revise and comment upon non-disclosure agreements
- Ensure organizational assets are protected, and risks mitigated
- Negotiate agreements via direct customer or vendor discussions
- Offer expert consultation to lines of business on potential contractual solutions in a continually changing product/service environment
- Utilize discretion in the use, acceptance and approval of language within agreements as supplier or buyer
- Utilize sound judgment and discretion in identifying key contract terms and issues that require escalation. Develop and propose creative solutions to contract issues
- Assess and mitigate contract risks during all phases of contract negotiation through consultation with stakeholders and lines of business/departments
- Provide training and support to less experienced administrative staff and line of business/department partners
- Identify the need for tools, templates, and processes and develop iterations of each as necessary
- Propose updates to company positions on specific contract issues based on market conditions or legal developments (as identified by legal counsel)
- Provide assistance and support in developing, submitting and negotiating significant change order requests
Education/Experience: (Minimum requirements)
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 4 years’ relevant work experience at a law firm or in-house corporate or government legal department with proven ability to learn new skills and responsibilities
- Knowledge of and experience with construction industry preferred

- Strong attention to detail, consistent follow through and reliable writing skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills required along with the ability to interface and report project status across all levels of management
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Location/Reporting:
- Position will be based in Taneytown, Maryland.
- Candidate will report to the Evapco General Counsel and work collaboratively with the individual business leaders involved with the particular agreement or project.
