About This Role :
Medical Records Managers maintain patient data and supervise the employees within the medical records department. They manage and secure all written and electronic data within a facility’s medical records department and ensure that information contained in each record is complete, accurate, and secure. They retrieve patient records and data for physicians and medical personnel, as needed.
What You'll Do :
- Oversees and monitors the release of confidential information in accordance with Evara Health policies and procedures and state statutes on privileged information for requests from insurance companies, attorneys, patients and subpoenas, with strict adherence to all HIPAA, federal, and accreditation agency rules and regulations
- Validates requests and authorizations for release of medical information according to established procedures and HIPAA guidelines
- Remains abreast of laws. standards and best practices within the industry
- Generates, analyzes and submits reports, as directed
- Completes releases of information requests, including retrieving patient’s medical records, copying / scanning medical records accurately and correctly, according to requests, established procedures, and established standards of quality and productivity
- Works collaboratively with Sr. Leadership to create and / or provide input on medical records policies, procedures, and best practices
- Communicates and monitors the implementation of Medical Records policies and procedures
- Works collaboratively with the Training and HR Departments to develop and implement Medical Records related training
- Plans, organizes and executes activities of the Medical records Dept.
- Ensures staff are hired and trained; manages the performance and development of staff
- Works within the scope of position and direction
- Ensures the accuracy and completeness of patient records by verifying data, managing data uploads, and conducting periodic audits
- Monitors the quality and accuracy of medical records, conducting regular quality control checks to identify and correct deficiencies
- Strictly adheres to all Evara Health, HIPAA, HRSA, State, Federal and accreditation agency rules and regulations
