Automation Engineers / Technicians - INJECTION MOLDING
EVCO Plastics, a leader in plastic injection molding, with operations in Wisconsin, Georgia, China and Mexico is currently looking to add to the Automation Department in its Calhoun, GA location.
EVCO Plastics is ISO 9001 & 13485 certified and is searching for an Automation/Robotics professionals to grow with our company.
This position is responsible for designing, installing, and troubleshooting automation equipment for molding machine and secondary operations to achieve a fully integrated work cell and to follow procedures and embrace new technologies.
Qualifications:
Required:
· Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels of the organization
· Minimum of an Associate’s degree in a related field and/or equivalent experience
· Ability to read mechanical drawings & electrical schematics
· Knowledge and troubleshooting skills of both mechanical & electrical systems
· Working knowledge of the plastic injection molding process and equipment
· PLC Programming experience
· PC experience / PC Designing Software
· Self-starter who works well with little supervision
· Team player with a positive attitude
Preferred:
· Experience with Scara or six axis robots
· Working knowledge of Solid Works / Pro-E software
Training (performed on-the-job):
· Continuous education and training is expected (where practicable)

· Ability to lift cartons and products of varying weights up to 40 lbs.

Responsibilities:
· Treat all internal and external contacts with uncompromising respect and integrity under all circumstances.
· Confer with Plant Manager to determine layout of equipment.
· Create and/or modify existing end of tooling and automation equipment.
· Assist engineering, quality assurance, maintenance and production with layouts and creating secondary equipment.
· Assemble and operate equipment through trial run to verify set-up.
· Modify installed equipment to ensure compatibility with new units, or install safety devices or attachments to old units.
· Interface equipment with molding machines to achieve an integrated work cell.
· Troubleshoot electronic circuitry and read electrical schematics.
· Replace damaged/defective components, purchase components and maintain inventory of spare parts to minimize lost production time.
· Program various PLC's.
· Make observations to reduce cycle time, improve efficiency and productivity.
· Perform preventative maintenance on automation equipment and maintain records.
· Follow company safety procedures to ensure your safety as well as the safety of others.
· Attend team meetings to promote team building.
· General housekeeping to keep the work area and plant clean.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
