SUMMARY
The Material Handler is responsible for ensuring that material and colorant meet customer specifications, maintaining and transporting material and product to and from the machine and to follow procedures and embrace new technologies.
Qualifications:
Required:
· Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels of the organization
· Basic mathematical skills: counting, multiplying, dividing, adding & subtracting
· Mathematical understanding of equations utilized in ratios
· Mechanical ability to use various hand & electrical tools
· Self-motivated team player with a positive attitude
· Organizational skills and maintain good attendance
Preferred:
· Previous manufacturing experience
· Knowledge of resins and colorants
Essential Physical Functions:

· Ability to move from machine to machine
· Ability to climb, stoop, twist, bend, squat and stretch on a frequent basis
· Various repetitive movements and good manual dexterity to perform required tasks
· Transport, handle material and colorant barrels weighing up to 400 pounds, lift bags of material & colorant up to 55 pounds
· May be exposed to airborne particles or fumes
· May be required to wear safety glasses and hearing protection
Responsibilities:
· Treat all internal and external contacts with uncompromising respect and integrity under all circumstances.
· Correctly labels all material components including machine, color feeders, & dryers.
· Verify & document correct material is used.
· Maintain, troubleshoot and clean material feeding/ blending equipment & grinders.
· Maintain a shift Material and Color Control Sheet.
· Ability to navigate QAD system to find materials, as needed.
· Accurately blend materials and colorants to the required ratios.
· Operate forklift and pallet jack to transport material and colorant.
· Transport finished skids to holding area and ensure boxes are properly stacked.
· Use free time to advance skills toward processing & set-up technician.
· Alert to spot problems that require Supervisor’s attention.
· Follow company safety procedures to ensure your safety as well as the safety of others.
· Attend team meetings to promote team building.
· General housekeeping to keep the work area and plant clean.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
