Showroom Assistant

Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting various functions within the organization, particularly in the areas of sales, customer service and inventory. This position requires a blend of organizational skills, merchandising knowledge, and a passion for interior design. The Assistant will help facilitate smooth operations while contributing to the overall success of our wholesale environment.

Duties

• Engage with customers in a friendly manner, fostering positive relationships to enhance customer satisfaction.
• Assist customers with inquiries regarding rugs and carpet products, providing knowledgeable recommendations.
• Support the salespeople with their showroom clients, their outreach to new clients and sales order logistics.
• Maintain an organized workspace and inviting sales floor by ensuring that the showroom and all displays are clean, tidy and well presented.
• Managing sample inventory – private labeling and logging spec information into the inventory system.
• Maintaining office supplies.
• Responsible for ongoing product knowledge.
• Assisting with salespeople’s shipping needs.
• Running errands to salespeople’s clients – i.e. Dropping off samples, picking up returns, etc.
• Opening up the showroom by 9:00 am every morning.

Requirements

• Strong organizational abilities to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• Previous experience in retail sales or flooring sales is preferred but not mandatory.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service.
• Ability to sell products confidently while understanding customer needs.
• Organized, punctual, energetic and personable, upbeat attitude.
• Detail oriented.
• Able to work as a team.
• Good time management skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $35,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
