Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Housekeeper/Laundry professional to join our team. This role is essential in maintaining the cleanliness and presentation of our facilities, ensuring that all housekeeping and laundry services meet the highest standards. The ideal candidate will have a passion for cleanliness and organization, contributing to a welcoming environment for our guests.
Responsibilities
- Clean all Common Areas including the lobby, guest restrooms, and hallways.
- Clean residents' rooms or apartments by vacuuming, dusting, and disinfecting bathroom.
- Bath/Shower rooms are monitored for cleanliness and sanitation and the need for soap and paper products.
- Vacuums all carpeted areas and upholstered furniture.
- Dusts all furniture, hanging pictures and fixtures.
- Sanitizes handrails.
- Cleans all glass surfaces.
- Cleans doors, doorways and walls.
- Cleans and disinfects common areas and restrooms.
- Mops or vacuums common areas.
- Disposes of refuse daily.
- Cleans and disinfects soiled utility bins.
- Cleans and organizes laundry areas and storage closets.
- Ensures that the housekeeping cart and other supplies and equipment are in a safe area to prevent any injuries to residents, associates, or visitors.
- Ensures that hazardous materials and cleaning products are properly stored and labeled.
- Be constantly alert to wipe up any water or liquid on the floors to prevent slips and falls by residents, associates, or visitors.
- Move furniture while cleaning all assigned work areas to ensure cleanliness behind and under all furniture and appliances.
- Defrost refrigerators and check and maintain properly dated food items in all assigned areas in accordance with the department as prescribed by the Supervisor.
- Wash window blinds and curtains according to Supervisors schedule.
- Perform other duties and tasks as assigned by your Supervisor or the CEO.
Qualifications
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
- Ability to multi-task when necessary.
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Driver's License
Physical Demands
- Frequent bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, twisting, squatting, climbing, and reaching movements.
- Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Frequently pushes/pulls, lifts and carries up to 10 pounds.
- Walks or stands a majority of the 8 hour workday.
- Possess necessary skills to continuously comprehend and communicate with residents, and staff.
- Ability to read and write in English.
- Ability to remain calm under stress.
- May be exposed to conditions that require the use of adequate/appropriate Person Protective Equipment (PPE).
Work Area and Environment
Most activities are performed indoors in a home-like setting. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is subject to normal consistent temperatures. The noise level in the work environment is moderate. The worker may be subjected to atmospheric conditions that may affect the respiratory system: fumes, odors, and dust.
The worker may be exposed to common household chemicals. Occasional exposure to loud and unpleasant noises due to unpredictable behaviors of residents. Occasional exposure to high humidity due to resident's option to control their environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $15.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 32 per week
