Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nurse to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills and a deep understanding of patient care. As a Infection Control Nurse, you will be responsible for the oversight and implementation of the infection prevention and control program as regulated by the CDC and IDPH guidelines. This is designed to provide a safe and sanitary environment to help prevent the development and transmission of communicable diseases and infections. This person works directly with the DON and partners with the Medical Director, Administrator, and others to develop a system of care that promotes infection prevention principles and practices.
This position is crucial in ensuring the safety and well-being of patients and residents in Nursing Home, Memory Care, and Assisted Living environments.
Duties
- Conduct rounds.
- Discuss and monitor infection prevention practices with staff members.
- Collects infection data from departments.
- Maintains records for each case of facility associated infection.
- Conducts outbreak investigation(s).
- Trains staff members on implementation of infection prevention practices.
- Investigate incidents of infections and reports such incidents to the appropriate persons/departments.
- Ensures availability of supplies required for infection prevention activities.
Qualifications
- Valid RN or LPN license in the state of Illinois.
- Experience in Infection control in long term care or other healthcare setting.
- Ability to write reports, analyze statistical data and trends, develop, and write policies and procedures, etc.
Requirements
- Complete or provide proof of completion of Nursing Home Infection Preventionist Training, provided by CDC or equivalent infection control and prevention training, within thirty (30) days of starting the position is Required.
- Strong planning, program design and development, and coordination skills required
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
