EPI is looking for a full-time unarmed security manager in Charleston, SC. This full-time, salaried position will be responsible for the oversight and management of EPI’s unarmed security guard services for the College of Charleston. EPI will be providing security staff to the College of Charleston at various campus locations. Most of the positions this individual will be responsible for managing will work the hours of 10:30pm-7:00am seven (7) days per week. There is one location that an unarmed security guard is required 24/7. The unarmed security manager will be responsible for hiring, training, scheduling and managing a team of SLED certified unarmed security guards. The unarmed security manager must currently have or be able to obtain a SLED security guard card. SLED PrimaryBasic instructor certification is preferred.
This individual will also provide support as needed to our event staffing operations in the Charleston on a weekly basis with increased emphasis on major events to include music festivals, college athletics, concerts, and other events as the need for support arises.

The Unarmed Security Manager will be responsible for facilitating additional training materials to the staff members to include:
Understanding the Higher Education legal and regulatory environment (e.g.: Title IX of the Education Amendments Act of 1972 (Title IX); The Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act); Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), Campus Sexual Violence Elimination (SaVE) Act, etc.)
- Dealing with young adult behavior
- Diversity and bias profiling issues
- Fire safety
- Police radio procedures
- Incident Command System (ICS), (IS-100 and IS-200, at a minimum)
- National Incident Management System (NIMS) (IS-700, at a minimum)
The Unarmed Security Manager must keep accurate training records for all staff members working under the manager.
Requirements:
- You must hold a current SLED Unarmed Guard certification throughout employment.
- Must be or have the ability to become a certified PrimaryBasic Instructor.
- Must be available to work shifts in positions at minimum 3 nights per week, rotating posts.
- Must have 3 years security management experience.
- Must be available to work Overnight hours as the contract requires.
- Will serve as the primary liaison between EPI and the Client for the unarmed guard scope of work.
- Must be organized and have the time management skillset to manage multiple people and locations at once.
- Must support other Charleston Event Staffing Operations for major events (music festivals, college football and basketball, other events as assigned)
