JOB SUMMARY:
Are you a print production expert with a passion for high-quality graphics and hands-on creativity? Join our team as a Print Production Specialist, where you'll operate cutting-edge print equipment, collaborate with a dynamic team, and bring client visions to life. This role requires technical expertise in operating wide-format printers, finishing equipment, and installation techniques, as well as the ability to troubleshoot issues, maintain production schedules, and collaborate with internal teams. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Graphic Design & File Preparation
- Modify and prepare files for print production using design software.
- Ensure file dimensions, color formats, and fonts are correct, making necessary edits.
- Process files through the RIP station for print preparations.
- Create print-ready files for production.
- Utilize print-related software to meet production needs.
Print Production & Equipment Operation
- Operate wide-format printers, laminators, cutters, and other print shop equipment.
- Assist with finishing techniques such as lamination, grommeting, mounting, and installation.
- Maintain and troubleshoot print equipment to ensure smooth operation.
- Ensure color accuracy and quality control through proofing and calibration.
- Perform routine maintenance on printing machinery and tools.
Installation & On-Site Support
- Install vinyl graphics and print materials both in-house and at offsite locations.
- Travel locally and occasionally out of town for installations, venue walk-throughs, and conferences.
- Ensure projects are completed with high-quality execution and alignment with company standards.
Project Management & Team Collaboration
- Manage multiple projects and deadlines, ensuring timely completion.
- Provide status updates on print projects and identify any issues with fulfillment.
- Collaborate with departments such as Creative Arts, Fabrication, Logistics, and Event Management.
- Participate in team meetings, offering creative solutions and process improvements.
- Train and guide Print Team Members on print production techniques, fostering their expertise and professional development.
- Maintain production schedules and forecast deadlines efficiently.
Administrative & Inventory Management
- Assist with administrative tasks such as invoicing, vendor orders, tracking costs, and client communication.
- Maintain an organized inventory of substrates and materials, ensuring proper stock levels and understanding supply orders as needed.
- Ensure all tools and equipment are stored securely and in working condition.
- Keep detailed documentation of project processes and upload information to project management platforms (e.g., Monday.com).
Safety & Workplace Standards
- Maintain a clean and safe print shop environment, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Follow best practices for print production and handling of materials.
- Uphold a positive work environment, fostering teamwork and professional growth.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
- 2-5 years of experience in print production, preferably in event production or a related industry.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and other graphic design software.
- Experience operating wide-format printers, laminators, vinyl cutters, and other print shop equipment.
- Strong knowledge of print techniques, materials, and installation methods.
- Attention to detail with a focus on quality control and color accuracy, including proofing and calibration.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills for collaboration across departments.
- Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 lbs.
- Flexibility to work weekends or travel as needed.
- Ability to maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Strong decision-making skills and the ability to work calmly under pressure.
- Ability to assist with training and guiding team members in developing their skills within the department.
- Demonstrated ability to contribute creative solutions and process improvements within the team.
- Experience in managing administrative tasks like invoicing, vendor communication, and tracking costs.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $24.00 - $26.00 per hour
