The Culinary Assistant / Server will provide meal service to residents/tenants under sanitary conditions and in a respectful, timely manner by communicating, coordinating, and cooperating with others to carry out the operations of the Nutrition and Culinary Services department.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Offers and serves menu choices to residents in a cheerful and respectful manner.
- Follows portion control size standards.
- Thoroughly cleans and sanitizes all dishes, tables, equipment, utensils, and containers used to provide meals as well as other assigned cleaning duties.
- Operates equipment in a proper, safe, sanitary, and respectful manner.
- Prepares various menu items as assigned by the Nutrition and Culinary Director (Coordinator) and/or Culinary Cook.
- Monitors daily menu items in order to verify that all necessary items are prepared and labeled.
- Stores leftovers appropriately according to food handling standards.
- Organizes and plans work schedule to meet times for serving.
- Operates dish machine according to directions. Pre-soaks and sorts dishes and utensils.
- Assists in accepting vendor deliveries and storing items in the proper areas.
- Senior Living Nutrition and Culinary Assistants must also operate the point of sale system (if applicable).
