The Head of Finance is responsible for defining, managing, and overseeing financial operations, reporting, and compliance related to the ticketing and operational aspects of the Games. This role requires a highly autonomous and experienced finance professional with experience in ERP systems (Workday, SAP), BI tools (MicroStrategy), and a strong background in public accounting. The selected candidate will be responsible for financial oversight, reconciliation, and collaboration with key stakeholders, ensuring transparency, efficiency, and strategic financial management throughout the project lifecycle. Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities : Define financial policies and manage day-to-day accounting operations, working with EVENTIM Germany's finance team. Establish and maintain a robust cashflow management strategy. Provide financial recommendations to the Project Director and EVENTIM senior management regarding settlement models and cash management strategies. Design and implement a ticket money settlement process for various sales channels, overseeing accounts payable / receivable and revenue reconciliation. Lead financial reconciliation and settlement processes for ticket revenues expected to exceed US$ 1 billion. Monitor risk throughout the project, ensuring compliance with internal policies and relevant regulations. Serve as the primary finance contact between the local entity, EVENTIM Germany and other stakeholders. Oversee the budgeting process, quarterly forecasting, and financial planning for the project. Develop and maintain project controlling frameworks for internal and external reporting. Manage relationships with banks, payment service providers, and financial service firms. Supervise external financial service providers and auditors to ensure compliance and best practices. Implement effective risk management strategies, including fraud prevention measures for electronic transactions. Prepare detailed financial reports and analysis for senior leadership. Coordinate expense management, cost forecasting, and variance analysis. Ensure the project accounting adheres to EVENTIM accounting rules and to applicable accounting standards (GAAP / IFRS). Support intercompany financial transactions and taxation strategy optimization. Lead and develop a small finance team supporting the project. Perform other duties as assigned to ensure project success. Key Knowledge, Experience & Qualifications : Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification is a plus. 5 years of experience in finance, with a strong preference for public accounting backgrounds. Extensive finance management expertise in a project-based or start-up environment. Proven experience in financial reconciliation, settlement processes, and risk management. Proficiency in ERP systems such as Workday and SAP. Experience with BI tools, particularly MicroStrategy. Ability to work autonomously, diligently, with persistence and accuracy and make sound financial decisions under tight deadlines. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, with experience working cross-functionally. Prior experience working with large-scale events, ideally in an Olympic Games, FIFA World Cup, or major global event, is preferred. Must be located in EST time zone. Willingness and ability to travel extensively to Milan and Los Angeles as required. Compensation & Benefits : Salary range : $140,000 - $180,000.
